From the newscasts to army clips, from volunteer clips to patriotic commercials, our music was heard in the Israel-Lebanon conflict.
For more than a month the world's media was focused on the fighting between Israel and Lebanon. Started with the terror attack of Hezbollah on an Israeli border-patrol, killing several soldiers and kidnapping two, six years of quiet in the north was over.
The Israeli TV channels transformed themselves from broadcasting channels into news channels. Channel 10 created a special intro for the newscasts, using the musical track "Ultimate Limits Sting" from the KPM library, as the background to it. They used many tracks from our libraries in their dramatic and emotional articles.
Due to the missile attacks on cities and villages in the north of Israel, the army produced a special TV program that explained to the Israeli citizens what to do during an attack. The track "Daytime Nighttime " from EVO was used as the background of this program.
The Israelis showed their solidarity with the people of the north by contributing money, food, games and more items in order to help the people who stayed in shelters for almost five weeks. Many small businesses in the north were crushed because of the fighting. A non-profit commercial was produced to encourage people to buy products and services from the north in order to help those businesses to rebuild themselves. The track "Luscious" from KPM was used in the commercial.
Lot's of citizens were inducted to military service, including many pilots from El-Al, the Israeli national airline company. El-Al produced a commercial clip to encourage its pilots who had been called for duty and uplifting the spirit of the citizens who were under the attacks. They used the music track "The Miracle" from Gottham music library for the commercial.
A cease-fire was agreed a few days ago. Hopefully it will last.

Impossible love between Israeli and Palestinian men. Group of foreigner workers that performed as drag-queens. Those are the subjects of two new Israeli movies that used songs from our catalogues.
The "World Gay Pride Parade" that was supposed to take place in Jerusalem this month was canceled because of the fighting in the north of the country. However, other gay events took place in the Israeli capital city. A feature film and a documentary film that deals with gay issues use our songs.
The theme song from the loveable animation series Pinocchio, was used in the feature film "Habua" (The Bubble) from the director Eytan Fox ("Walking on Water", "Yosi and Jager"). The film brings the story of three young people living in Tel-Aviv. The movie follows the group's difficulties of living in Israel's reality. Their routine breaks when Ashraf, a young Palestinian man, enters their life. A love story evolves between him and one of the Israeli guys, but reality is too strong.
Cast: Ohad Knoller, Alon Fridman, Daniela Virtzer, Yousef 'Joe' Sweid
"Paper Dolls", a documentary film by Tomer Heyman tells the story of a group of gay Filipino migrant workers that meet every weekend in a small apartment in southern Tel Aviv. Throughout the week they work as caregivers of elderly Orthodox Jews in the Tel Aviv suburb and on weekends they performed before an audience of Filipinos migrant workers across Israel on their drag-queen show, called “The Paper Dolls".
In spite of the chaotic Israeli reality, where fear of terrorist suicide bombers competes with the fear of the "Immigration Police", the group members succeed in expressing their true selves. They see Israel as an open and free place, where they can enjoy sexual and cultural liberty. Bananarama's song "Venus" was used in the film in a scene of live performance of the group in a night club. The movie won three awards at the 2006 Berlin Film Festival.
