Dear People of Israel and the world.
As I'm sure you know, tens of thousand of people in
the Gulf Coast lost their homes which were destroyed
by Hurricane Katrina. New Orleans, one the most beloved
American cities so well known for its musical inspiration,
was nearly completely destroyed by a resulting flood.
In this time of need, it's become apparent that we (America)
cannot count on our government to help us, so we have
turned to each other for help. We (the American people)
have also been deeply touched by the generosity and
compassion which has been shown to us by other countries
whether friend or foe, including our allies in Israel
and even our long time political rivals such as China
and Cuba, among many others.
In my efforts to help, I have set up a web shop to sell
T-shirts in order to raise money for the victims of
Hurricane Katrina. All revenue generated by me from
these shirts will be donated to the Red Cross (known
for it's humanitarian efforts throughout the world,
including their continuing help with victims of the
Tsunami of last year), and to Habitat for Humanity,
an organization dedicated to building housing for those
in need of shelter. These T-shirts are available at
the following web site: http://www.cafepress.com/voodookrewe
Other designs are also available at http://www.cafepress.com/communitycares,
which will be donating their proceeds to Americares
and the ASPCA.
For anyone who is interested in making a donation, but
does not want to purchase a T-shirt, my band (Gravy)
has provided a direct link to the Red Cross on our home
page: www.gravytunes.com.
Thank you again for all of your help with this. It is
so important to keep the Red Cross funded, not only
for the victims of Katrina, but so that they can be
ready to help whenever and wherever people need help
in the world.
Best regards,
-Erik Szabo
