It was a hot summer in Israel, not just the temperature
but the feelings of Israelis due to the "historic"
and "brave" decision to pullout from Gaza
and four settlements on the West-Bank.
The
Israeli media expected the pullout from Gaza to take
weeks. Lots of reporters were sent to Gaza in order
to cover this story from all angles. Instead it took
five days to clear out the settlements. Forced evacuations
began Wednesday, stopped during the Jewish Sabbath and
ended on Monday.
Last month there was a government produced commercial
on TV that encouraged the residents to be evacuated,
to contact the government offices who would find them
new homes and help them to start their life again. The
music to that commercial was taken from KPM. It is a
positive track, simple but optimistic. View

Channel
10 news covered this story around the clock. In some
of their articles they used tracks from MMG's music-bank.
"There were many issues and stories in this event"
said a producer on 'News10'. "We needed some dramatic
tracks to suit the dramatic pictures and emotional tracks
for personal interest stories. In an article about the
girls' fortification in Neve Dekalim's Synagogue, we
used the tracks "Battlefield" (Selected Sound),
"Running Battle", "Into Combat"
(KPM) and more to bring the feel of battle between this
group of ideological young girls and the army and police
troops."

"This event is shaking the balance of the Israeli
society, and children are exposed to all of this too"
said one of the producers from Channel 6 (the cable
channel for children). "We are producing a news
magazine for children that explains the news in a simple
way. We feel it's important to give them information
in the proper way, especially dramatic events like this.
We collaborate with Snunit group, and uploaded these
articles to the web so they would be available for all
of the children of Israel. We used MMG's music to color
the articles and make them more interesting to the children.
We have logs created by children from Gaza that present
the situation from their point of view. We have articles
by children and by professional news reporters and we
really work hard to make children understand."
