There are two Bug songs in the hit comedy, The 40 Year Old
Virgin: "Minute by Minute" (Lester Abrams/Michael
McDonald) and a new song that samples "Fire" called
"If I Was Your Girlfriend" (Nicole Wray plus Ralph
Middlebrooks, Clarence Satchell, William Beck, Leroy Bonner,
Marshall Jones, Marvin Pierce and James Williams).
The 40 Year Old Virgin was released August 19th and has been
#1 at the box office for two weeks straight.

the help of their eye-catching cousin Daisy (Jessica Simpson)

in "The General Lee," their famed 1969 orange Dodge

Gainey).
Bug client Jimmie Vaughan's song, cowritten by Paul Henry
Ray, "Hey Yeah" plays over the opening titles of

Hustle & Flow
The plot: Though DJay, a streetwise Memphis pimp,
has always had a way with words, that gift has long been misused;
this philosopher-hustler lives a dead-end life at the fringes
of society. Still, DJay wonders what happened to all the big
dreams he had for his life. A chance encounter with an old
friend, Key, a sound engineer who has always wanted to make
it in the music business, spurs DJay: if he's ever going to
make his mark, it has to happen now. He begins to write down
his freestyle raps - his flow - and the two team up with Shelby,
a church musician with a beat machine, to lay down bass-thumping
crunk tracks. DJay's metamorphosis affects his entire house,
as the women in his life - Shug and Nola - find ways to contribute
to the creative process. With the impending visit to Memphis
of hometown platinum-selling rapper Skinny Black, DJay has
to make one last hustle if he's ever going to flow.
The much talked about film Hustle & Flow, winner of the
Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival this year was
scored by composer, Scott Bomar. "Edwin's Lament"
by bug client, Mark Lemhouse is also featured in this film
that follows the trials and tribulations of a Memphis pimp
who wants to turn his life around by becoming a rap star.

The Devil's Rejects
The plot: The unthinkable horror and chaos continues
a few weeks after the events depicted in "House of 1000
Corpses," as the murderous Firefly family is forced on
the lam after a bloody showdown at their home. With their
story all over the news, the Firefly family continues their
soulless killing spree, while Sheriff John Wydell (William
Forsythe) - hell-bent on avenging his brother's murder - looks
to track them down for one last horrifying confrontation.
Tyler Bates scored the terrifying Rob Zombie film, The Devil's
Rejects. This followup film to Zombie's House of 1000 Corpses
also includes "Rock On" by Stage Three, Willie Dixon's
"I Can't Quit You Baby" and Muddy Waters' "I
Be's Troubled."

Happy Endings
The plot: Mamie (Lisa Kudrow) is being blackmailed.
This filmmaker named Nick (Jesse Bradford) claims to know
Mamie's son - the one she gave up for adoption - but Nick
won't introduce her to him unless he can film the reunion.
Enter Javier (Bobby Cannavale), Mamie's massage therapist
boyfriend, who convinces Nick to film him instead. Now they're
all making a movie about massage. And 'happy endings'... Charley
(Steve Coogan) has a longtime boyfriend named Gil (David Sutcliffe).
Their best friends, Pam and Diane (Laura Dern and Sarah Clarke),
once tried using Gil as a sperm donor. They said his sperm
didn't take, but Charley thinks those selfish, control-freak
lesbians are lying. Pam and Diane's two-year-old son looks
exactly like Gil. And it's time to set the record straight...
Jude (Maggie Gyllenhaal) is pissed. Not at anyone in particular.
Just in general. When her cousin kicks her out of the house,
Jude shacks up with Otis (Jason Ritter), who's still trying
to convince his father, Frank (Tom Arnold), that he's straight.
Frank's a widower. And he's rich. So Jude decides to sleep
with him, too. Really. The last thing she expected was to
fall in love.
Happy Endings, starring Lisa Kudrow, features many earthy
tracks from Calexico and Dirty Three. With a limited release,
this movie is already said to be one of the most underrated
films of the year. Check your local listings to see if this
Bug Music packed flick is playing near you!
