The album of the trailers
Video Helper's Album 25.5 "Modules" is a great album
for movie trailers, at least that's what the producers of the
new movies "Hide and Seek", " House Of Wax"
and " Serenity" think. |

Modules, Album 25.5 of video helper contains 130 outrageous
sonic forays into narrative sound design. Each cue is designed
to immediately set an emotion and build upon it -- while suggesting
visuals and telling a story. Each cue also features editable
modular hits/transitions that can be used interchangeably
with other elements on this disc to create new frameworks
that, hopefully, will cause deafness and put a plague on your
people. Tracks from it was used in the trailer of three new
movies: "Hide and Seek", " House Of Wax"
and " Serenity".

Serenity (Futuristic
Action-Adventure)
The film centers around Captain Malcolm Reynolds, a hardened
veteran (on the losing side) of a galactic civil war, who
now ekes out a living pulling off small crimes and transport-for-hire
aboard his ship, "Serenity." He leads a small, eclectic
crew who are the closest thing he has left to family -- squabbling,
insubordinate and undyingly loyal. When Mal takes on two new
passengers -- a young doctor and his unstable, telepathic
sister -- he gets much more than he bargained for. The pair
are fugitives from the coalition dominating the universe,
who will stop at nothing to reclaim the girl. The crew that
was once used to skimming the outskirts of the galaxy unnoticed
find themselves caught between the unstoppable military force
of the Universal Alliance and the horrific, cannibalistic
fury of the Reavers, savages who roam the very edge of space.
Hunted by vastly different enemies, they begin to discover
that the greatest danger to them may be on board "Serenity"
herself.
Director: Josh Whedon
Cast: Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres, Alan Tudyk, Adam
Baldwin, Jewel Staite and more
The trailer includes tracks from Video-Helper's album
no 25.5:
* Mechaphobia (by Winter Saba)
Ambi-dustrial, heartbeat-like bass (actually a processed cymbal),
machine-like ring modulated rhythmic cycles, "breathing"
air whooshes and reverbed, airy pad build to a neutral climax.
* History of Radio (by Winter Saba)
Disorienting collage of radio noise, tuning sounds, orchestral
tones, static and various unidentifiable radio programs swell
into an explosive hit

House Of Wax (Horror)
What begins as a weekend getaway for six friends
becomes a terrifying fight for their lives in HOUSE OF WAX,
an exciting re-imagining of the 1953 horror classic from Dark
Castle Entertainment and producers Joel Silver and Robert
Zemeckis.
A road trip to one of the biggest college football games of
the year takes a turn for the worse for Carly (ELISHA CUTHBERT),
Paige (PARIS HILTON) and their friends when they decide to
camp out for the night before heading to the game. A confrontation
with a mysterious trucker at the camp site leaves everyone
unsettled, and Carly has her hands full trying to keep the
peace between her boyfriend Wade (JARED PADALECKI) and her
hot-headed brother Nick (CHAD MICHAEL MURRAY).
Cast: Elisha Cuthbert, Chad Michael Murray, Brian Van
Holt, Paris Hilton and more
The trailer includes tracks from Video-Helper's
album no 25.5 and 17.5:
* Bed Wetter (by Lemelle)
Three really big, explosive hits with eerie shit in between,
utilizing processed vocals/choir for the background and reverbed
bombs, glass breaking and percussion for the hits.
* Lighting Overload (by Winter Saba)
Imagine flipping the switch of a giant generator that turns
the lights on in a giant stadium. Things start sparking @:05
and get worse from there as the low hum begins to rise in
pitch, the hits get bigger and more frequent, building to
an overload @:29 amidst subtle warning sirens
* Death Support (by Jones)
Sci-fi interpretation of the pulsing, rhythmic cycles of a
respirator, only really distorted, delayed and processed out
of its mind. Electronic drum "heartbeat" throughout
anchors the rhythm while airy, ring-modulated tonal samples
provide an undulating backdrop.
* Have You Seen This Child (by Winter Saba)
Amidst an airy, distant pad, lilting children's music box
music is broken up by disturbing hits comprised of metal screeches
and delayed children's voices. As the cut progresses, the
music box becomes slower and more broken-up until the end
where it becomes a twisted mess. Good for anytime kids might
be in danger.
* Asylum Gate (by Winter Saba)
Low-frequency pads lay under delayed Roger Waters-esque maniacal
laughing that builds towards a climax by becoming more processed
and edited until a metallic "jail door" slam @:16
ends the cut. Good for nightmares and evil clowns.
* Screaming Metals (by Winter Saba)
Painful, high-frequency metal stress blended with tortured
electric guitar noises. Begins with a seagull-like shriek
that's followed by a bed of airy pads littered with various
explosive squeals and metallic hits. A low-frequency feedback
build leads to the last hit @:18. Good for horrible scenes,
torturing your audio engineers and attracting dogs for miles
around.
Duration : 0.27 Tempo : No Tempo
* Time Dripping (by Goldberg)
'Moaning' synth pads which spin to delayed piano and percussion
@:07 give the sense of isolation, sadness and time crawling
by as the police leave the house, leaving the parents alone
in their small house with nothing to do but wait. A simple
cue with heartbeat-like delayed percussion. Good for light
tension.

Hide and Seek (Horror)
Hide and Seek revolves around a widower (Robert
DeNiro) and his daughter (Dakota Fanning). They move to upstate
and Emily (Fanning) soon creates an imaginary friend named
Charlie...but this act takes an unexpected and terrifying
turn, where her father and doctor (Famke Janssen) start to
worry about Emily's gruesome habits.
Cast: Robert DeNiro, Dakota Fanning, Famke Janssen
and more
The trailer includes tracks from Video-Helper's
album no 25.5:
* Here Comes Hell (by Winter Saba)
An orchestra tuning up quickly grows into a rising cacophony
of noise and disorienting movement that suddenly disappears
@:13, leaving only a trace of tinkling wind chimes and low
vocal pads. Good for suspense and horror.
* Carol Ann (by Winter Saba)
Remember Poltergeist? This is our take on the sound that sucked
the poor little girl (no, not the dwarf) into the TV. Hundreds
of unintelligible filtered vocal snippets assault you while
airy low and high frequency pads build to a fake-out climax
@:15. Good for nightmares, confusion or just creeping your
viewers out.
