Technological Developments
Digital Warehouse, Online Reports, Secret Shopping, Higher Rates, total DRM control are all in the core of MMG's activity in the New Media.
MMG in cooperation with Eurofun would introduce a digital warehouse to store all the content that contains any of its copyrights. All the players in that market who would want to use the content will have to pull the content from this warehouse. This warehouse will be available to the owners of midi files, ring tones, audio and video owners (labels) and will supply us with online reports on each transaction that will be done with our copyright. No license will be granted to any operator, aggregator or label that would not use the warehouse.
After opting our digital rights from the local society Acum early this year we have been looking for the best partners in our market place to insure total control on the works of our writers. After a very long process we have established the following system.
An auditing and tracking system that would provide us with daily statistics on what was pulled from the digital warehouse and for what price. The system will also generate a "Secret Shopper" module that would allow us to see that any content that is purchased is being pulled from our digital warehouse. Any player that would try to "fool" the system would be denied access to the digital warehouse and would have to provide us with explanations for the discrepancies.
The digital warehouse and the collection of the royalties will be done via Eurofun, an Israeli based company that is a leading publisher and distributor of mobile content in Israel & EMEA . This company is owned by MAPAL Communications which is held by public companies and serves as the mobile content distributor for Disney, Warner Bros., Sony Pictures, Mirage and CAPCOM to name but a few.
The monitoring system is provided by All About Rights (AAR) who developed this system that would be used to monitor the traffic of our content. AAR also provides other solutions to content owners such as the Content Tracking System that allows content owners to find out who sells their content across the internet and at what fee.
Finger printing based impulse purchase of mobile content service was launched in Israel. The service has shorten the 7-8 clicks process to 1-2 clicks. Its working its simple: it makes us more money.
Hingi (Hear It And Get It) is an Israeli company that has developed a technology-based, patent pending associative search engine, enabling a new buying experience, and driving consumers to spontaneous downloading: while listening to your favorite song on the radio or TV, sending an SMS with the channel number you’re currently listening to will cause our server to send you back the ringtone, song, video clip or any other related product.
The service was launched in December 2006 by two of Israel's leading cellular operators, and has created a lot of traffic both on song recognition and downloads.
The company's database contains over 750K fingerprints of works from all over the world and allows you to know within 2 seconds what song is being played in every radio station and music channel in Israel. MMG will offer its clients a monthly tracking service of selected works with real up-to-date air play information.
The company is planning to branch out to major markets in Europe and North America with in the next year.
MMG is proud to be a share holder and contributor to Hingi's success.
