Before we developed the system we studied the flow of information that led to proper registration of a copyright in our society. The sources of information, its quality and the way that it is finally being used to produce accurate payment in the minimum time possible.

The guidelines of our system are:

It has to talk to our society (ACUM).
It must be able to produce output so other publishers can access the statement information. We are able to export it to counter-point readable files, DOS, Windows or AS-400.
It has to have the ability be customized to the needs of our clients in an easy, effort-less way.

The result was:

ACUM's system is built under the rules made by CISAC the organization of all copyright societies. Since we built our system to interface theirs the result was a system that can talk to any society worldwide.

For example

Our client code is the CAE/IPI which is used worldwide by all the societies.
Our song codes are similar to the ones in ACUM. When the international song code is implemented (ISWC) our song codes will be changed accordingly.
Our Cue-Sheet number is the AVI number used by all societies as the definite ID for every cue-sheet.

This is only the beginning. The system is being developed on a day to day basis following the changes in copyright management rules throughout the world.

The system allows easy registration of all active copyrights in our territory and insures accurate collection of money generated from activities in our territory.
